Free Parking enforcement launches in time for Christmas

27 November 2010

On November 27th Gallions Reach are launching a free parking enforcement service to ensure that our 2,000 capacity car park is utilised in the best way for shoppers.

Catherine Goddard the Centre manager is enthused about the positive changes it will make,

'We are using a company called UKPC and they are approved contractors of the British Parking association. They will help us to manage parking in general and protect Disabled and Parent & Child parking bays from misuse. We are the only non-council cark park in Newham to hold 'Park Mark - The Safer Parking Award' as awarded by the BPA which makes our car park a great place to feel at ease about leaving your vehicle whilst doing your Christmas shopping.'

Nicky Scanlon from UKPC thinks that the scheme will make a real difference,

'UKPC will be working in partnership with Gallions Reach Shopping Park and look to provide "peace of mind" parking for both customers and tenants alike. Our aim is to provide an added value to the shopping experience on site by ensuring that people are clear on where they can and cannot park.

Gallions Reach will not profit from the scheme and all of the commission made will be donated to local Children's Hospice Richard House whom Gallions Reach have a very close knit relationship with.

Viv Talbot from Richard house commented,

'Richard house are delighted that Gallions Reach is continuing to support us in this way. Knowing the difficulty that some of our parents experience when trying to access disabled parking bays with their children in wheelchairs we know what a positive step forward this is.'
